Inspiration

The idea for the project begun to form at [Disobey 2026], where conversations with likeminded individuals planted a seed of inspiration into a cyber-oriented mind.

With deep personal interest to cybersecurity and it's effects on the surrounding world, that seed began to grow. The never-ending hunger to gather information to learn from grew it even more.

The daily struggle of keeping up with the sheer volume of data, news, incidents, trends and intelligence gave the final push for the seed of inspiration to grow into an idea.

Idea

The momentum and rate of change within the cyberscape is making it ever harder for individual cybersecurity professionals to keep up with the arising trends, threats and vulnerabilities.

The rise of artificial intelligence has evolved the field to something we've never seen before. This change in momentum affects not just the individual effort to stay informed, but also the strategic and operative work of every organization.

But what if there was a tailored platform to address this issue? Something that would do the legwork, information gathering and processing? Something that would work on all levels of an organization? An intelligence aggregator and analyzer.

Course pipeline at Centria UAS

This project has been done as part of Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology studies at Centria University of Applied Sciences.

Project Antimatter is a personal umbrella project consisting of multitude of courses, aiming towards continuity at the upcoming thesis-phase.

The project as a whole begun, as usual, with intensive research about the subject as a whole. The main focus was set on finding out how modern cyber threat intelligence can be gathered utilizing open-source intelligence.

The utilization of LLM's and data-analytics at gathering and processing of the data was also a key-interest within the study.

This research-phase was done as part of Conducting Research and Reporting -course. It consisted of several months worth of shifting through source-material, researching the subject and writing a short-study of the findings. A jump into the rabbit hole.

Results

After some time there was enough knowledge for the short-study to start forming. The paper included research on different existing and theoretical ways on how open-source intelligence is used within threat-intelligence platform.

The paper also touched subjects regarding the ethical side of intelligence gathering. The focus point of the use of artificial intelligence also plays a big part in the paper.

Of course some constraints, such as the paper's guide length and available time, meant that there are large gaps within the end-product.

Cover of the finished short-study

Even so, the research and information gathering was done in a way, that it would act as solid groundwork for the practical part of the project. The information within the cyber-oriented mind kept forming the solution.
